    How hard is it?

To get caught speeding these days? I drove 800k last night (Palm.Nth return) towing a trailer, 4 hours each way, and saw ONE cop on the way down, in the 50k in Fielding, and ONE cop on the way back, in Sanson (there's always one there). How does anyone get caught? I guess if I drove with my eyes closed it would have been easy, but I saw both cars long before my detector picked them up.

Depends what day and where you are driving.

From here to wanganui and back on boxing day to see the races (about 360kms round trip) I saw 10 cops. No tickets though.

Well, depends if you're brain-dead or not.
I don't have a radar detector, and avoided tickets of any kind for about 30 years, until I did a brain-dead thing (because I was semi-braindead at the time) and overtook in an area known to be swarming with police (SH1 between Orewa and Warkworth).
It was lucky the kind policeman stopped me though, else I might have killed someone.
Well, no, probably not, given that overtaking in a passing zone was the one bit of law-breaking I did on that piece of road, and that was only to get past a freakin 4WD I'd been [following / buffeted around by / gassed by] for about 15 minutes. Because the nice policeman was officially licenced to kill, he was OK exceeding the speed limit, causing cars to get out of his way, etc. in the 10 kms or so it took him to catch up to me.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

If you speed in AKL, it is piss easy cause all the cops have now made AKL their home (I am sure). That's good tho, I don't speed inside AKL anyway so I'm not worried.

On my ride from Welly to Auckland just before xmas I saw 1 cop, then on the ride from Auckland back to Welly just after new years I saw 20+ cops!

I swear most of the police in NZ are hanging out in Kerikeri though. Every time I rode through town I saw flashing red and blue lights somewhere...

Non-spending on radar detectors, making mountings for them, updating them, making duplicates mountings for them for other vehicles etc etc = lostsa dollars not spent needlessly. :cool2:

Saw 2 car + 6cops in Onehunga, one on the 20, then the standard HP cruising the airport strip - and that's just going to work.

Most cops I ever saw in one place was mittagong-bowral, NSW, in 93, May 22... they had just arrested the "back-packer killer", Ivan Milat.... (was a special about him on TV the other night too)
300 cops in town... couldn't go to a fish 'n chip shop without seein them, couldn't get a motel room... all full of cops... had to go 50ks up the road for the night....

Simple. Dont bloody stop for the wankers. Thats a easier way of not getting a ticket.

Unless they get you in the end. then your getting fucked in the arse.
