Recall any vintage MC arcade games?

Newbie poster here. Anyone help me recall any motorbike arcade games that dominated your misspent youth? I mean late 70s and 80s vintage stuff that you would've spent your last 10c on at the local chippie.....

I'm a bit young to remember....and as the curator of an upcoming exhibition that will celebrate the art and science of competition and race bikes (due to open November08 at Te Manawa Museum in Palmy North) - I wanna track down some vintage arcade racing experiences for visitors to try alongside the modern PS and XBox stuff....

A fav of mine is Thundercade.

Its a vertical shooter on a bike where you obtain sidecar weapons as power ups, and destroy tanks and choppers on your way to taking down a nuclear powerstation.

Yeah thats a good point Dave, on a good note these are just a few of the 5000 odd games on my Kids MAME cabinet down in the playroom.

Was worried my 3 boys would miss out on the classics like defender and pac-man and be stuck with playstation and xbox so i spent one xmas building it for them. Bloody good fun for adults too.

    Well spotted!

But I was thinking about back before then - the first Nintendo console had a moto-x jumping game. With like, 10x10 pixel graphics.

Trying to think of the bike racing game on Commodore 64 we used to play???

I had a game called "wheelie" which was on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum which was back in the early 80's.

If you are wanting a few games then a good (modern) one is Manx TT, you actually sit on a bike which is quite cool
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Road rash was soo good that I just had to add this. This was a intro movie to the game.

When a player unlocked new levels, they were treated to videos like this.

    And when you win...

    When you lose... hahah..
