Point taken Jim,I voted "dont care" which isnt how I feel,it`s more a case of "I`ll go with the flow".I`ve seen forums over-run by dorks, almost killed off by spats that have got totally out of hand and, more positively, carry on for years with very little hassle.
Bob and myself both tried this place as a result of wari posting elsewhere, isn`t that the same kind of thing?
And I`ve already sent that as a pm after reading Spankme`s thoughts but I`d hope that dd wouldn`t use it if I asked him not to,like I said I was under the impression that it would be o.k.,if it`s going to upset anyone then I`ll get back to the man.danger_dave actually asked me to post it to see people`s reactions.
As for the wording Spankme,IF it`s used how about changing "club" for "community"?

I take the view that riding a motorcycle is a "mid-life enhancement", rather than evidence of some "crisis"...

Oh rest assured Hitcher, I would indulge in a mid life crisis with or without the bike, the mid life crisis provides me with the perfect excuse to have a bike, and the need to ride it.

It's possibly a subtle distinction for some people (no disrespect intended), but two web communities sharing information is a different proposition to advertising through the letters page of a print media publication.

As both you and Bob have proved, you're already attuned to the general culture of Internet forums, and approach with tact, diplomacy, and respect without needing a "hazing" process.

Why dont we put stickers on our bikes???
If I meet a biker somewhere and I dont mention KB, they normally ask about the sticker on my screen.... I dunno if anyone thats had a look at the sticker remembers and has a squiz as a guest or not.... but it is a fairly common occurance... same when I was at the bike show in november (or whenever)... people asked....

btw SpankMe, I'll be in for some more on payday!!!

However somewhere along the line this message has been misinterpreted as a "WE ARE GOING TO TAKE OVER YOUR SITE, INVADE IT WITH OUR READERS AND PLASTER IT WITH ADS!!"

Sure there are downsides to growth but these downsides need to be addressed and resolved for the sake of moving forward as opposed to "not even trying at all". Steps have already been made to address the idiot problem i.e. moderators and likewise I'm sure any other problem can be similarly resolved by the KB problem solving machine.
Hmmm I felt like this when I posted first time but I have to say the other postings are making me think. I find so many new threads when I log on now days and so many replies it is hard to read them all let alone reply to the ones I want to reply to. Especially hard on this shitty Telecom dial up line I have here in the country. So I have to retract my first posting and say NO PROMO PLEASE.

Presumably Wari means he prefers that KB grow naturally, word of mouth promotion and such like.

As opposed to placement in bike magazines.

Although it can be hard to tell with all of the mooning going on

So, was that a spritual comment, or subliminal?
