Hi everyone,
Today we lost well known and loved member Zukin (or Gaybin, Oldboy or Scott as you may also know him) in a motorcycle accident in the Coromandel. I haven't found any threads about this, and I know that generally you don't make posts (or let them exist) until next of kin has been informed...
He was the best father I could of ever had... He had a zest for life, which no shoes could fill. We all knew and loved that goofy smile he had, whether he be in those attractive orange overalls at trackdays, thrashing the GSR on the Targa roads, out on a bike in the middle of no where, or just simply sitting down with me having a cold ale as he would say.
I do not know details of the accident yet, I think I'll probably wait until I'm back in New Zealand.. so please don't post up details if you know. And I'm sure the other two members that were with him (God Bless You, I hope you are ok!) wont want to read it either.
Most importantly of all, he went doing something he LOVED. He lived for motorbikes and KB... all I heard was "KB adventure this, and KB member that" so I know he went the best possible way. He was a firm believer in "Die with memories, not with dreams!" and he achieved this better than anyone I know... maybe not in the number of years he spent with us, but certainly in the experiences he had and the love he shared. He will be greatly missed...
I will post up details of the funeral later... at this stage, my mother and I have discussed having motorbikes and cars showing up... he was by no means a normal man, so he should have no normal goodbye. He lived for the bikes, so if anyone could bring a bike along we'd greatly appreciate that. I will let you know details later on when I find out myself!
Thanks for all your support, I know that Mum has recieved messages from some of you, and she wishes to pass on her thanks. She will come on here later and say a few words...
RIP Daddy... I love you so much and will hold you in my heart forever. <3 You will be greatly missed, and enjoy that last ride up to the sky... Love you...
Funeral Update / Information
When: Monday 7th June
Start: 1.30pm (1330)
Where: Napier War Memorial on Marine Parade (He was certainly not an everyday man, so he's not having an everyday funeral)
Most importantly: Mum and I have decided that we want as many bikes there as possible. There is room to leave bikes just outside the venue and it would be the best goodbye I could ever imagine giving him. So if you can bring a bike, please do! If you want more information, don't hesitate to send me a message.
Hope you can make it! Everyone is welcome.
And thank you all for the continued support, it really helps usI can see why Dad saw this as his extended family, you really are!!!
