Not to sure which is uglier that or the big plastic suzuki 1800 thing with the funny headligt, and i do like the crossbones.
does it go round corners? Not very well...
does it accelarate faster than your average one litre sportsbike? nah...
Is motorcycling all about looks and image? from the HD perspective...YEP!!!!!
I have had a ride on a 05 V-Rod, not impressed at all. The steering rake was so kicked out it was almost dangerous! The power was mediocre, almost boring and the engine was smooth and quiet like a honda. Ooooh!

Well, I've ridden 5 of them - 3 of which were set up by the factory techs and - I'd have to say I pretty much entirely disagree with that.
It hasn't got very good ground clearance I'll cop.
Apart from that it steers and handles great, has an extremely sweet 'Aprilia-like' engine that thrives on revs and is very comfortable.

looking closely at the exhaust system harley have delved back into history and taken inspriration from the 79 tourglide, routing of the rear pipe is identical and routing of the front pipe to the left hand side is not dissimilar
it never looked right on the tour glide and it don't look any better on the V rod
Don't have too much of problem with the exhaust other a slightly upsweep , not much but just a little to take of the squareness, might have been in order.
I've never been too much of a fan of the V Rod. It's taken me a little while to just nut out what's wrong. Oddly enough looking at that the pics all is revealed. Cruisers with radiators? Nope it's too big and throws out the front end into places no bike should go, and certainly not a Harley and definatley not a cruiser. I know the rad. is an intrigal part of the bike but the V Rod radiators are wrong........period. The headlight looks like someone has taken to it with a sledghammer or Harley are cost cutting on materials.
All in all the V rods look too sleek, like something that slides on by unnoticed and if it was not for the sound no one would even bother to look.
I think it will be interesting just how long Harly persevere with the V Rod either before ditching them or doing a radical design change.
