VFR coming up to 100K

Hi guys,

I got a 98 VFR coming up to 100K in the next couple of weeks(ish) and I was wondering if anyone else has had a shop do the service for this time frame, and what the cost was.

She's running sweet, but needs the air filter, plugs and leads replaced.
Oil and filter get changed every 10,000.

I do most of my own servicing. I have a copy of the manual on disk, which makes it easier.
Air filter is a portion of wees to replace, but I turned mine into a Unifilter, so it gets cleaned, not replaced.
Plugs are easyish to replace too - the only tricky bit is it's easier to do the front ones if you undo the oil cooler bolts first, so you can move it out of the way. The job is easier if you use the plug wrench that comes with the bike, and a 10mm (?) socket with ratchet wrench. The leads are the most time-consuming, as you'll need to take the side fairings off.

I wouldn't get a shop to do any of this - none of it's technical, just time-consuming.

100k, huh? Nearly run in then.
Dunno what my mileage is, but it's probably about 80k. The odometer has been reading 6% low since I lowered the gearing and fitted a speedo corrector, adjusted to -12%, about 3 years or so ago. The only things it's been in the shop for are tyres, a chain, and steering head bearing replacement. Oil, filters, fluids, parts, etc. I've done myself, as well as a new rear shock, some electrical stuff, SV valve synch (well overdue for another one), new fork springs/oil, shifter kit, fixed cracked clutch cover, blah blah blah... God I'm boring...

I managed to pull down a workshop manual for the service, 181 Mg tho.

The front plugs looked like they could be a pain in the arse, but I'll give it a go.

Actually, they weren't too bad. Just remove the oil cooler bolts, pull the plug boots off carefully, and you're away. IN the manual it says you have to remove the fairing panels, but I don't think I had to do that.
