Yep, I don't have much choice. Missus takes the car, and I won't be caught dead on a Bus, i'd rather get wet and cold.

You pussies commuting on motorcycles with your warm waterproof gear and soft seats make me sick.
Pedal power for the win!
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

No worries. I ride every day, rain, hail, or shine. Zip in liners if cold, zip out liners if hot, 1 piece rain suit if wet, tinted visor all year round. Beats sitting in queues, especially with the price of petrol these days.
I did today, not yesterday though. Turns out today was worse than yesterday me thinks!!![]()
I avoid the rain like a dose of the shits unless caught out in summer touring.
I had the bike booked in for a service yesterday - started off fine (if overcast and about 4 degrees is fine) and naturally it turned to shit
The weekend is meant to be utter crap in CHCH - good weather to spend in the shed cleaning the bike!
The wet road really spooks me. Just inexperienced I guess. Other than that I really enjoy riding in the rain - just the look and feel of it - misty roads, rain beading across a waxed visor, bleak grey sky, hotgrips on full, warm jacket done up tight.
Until I get cold, then its no fun.

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
"Wow, Great advise there DB."
WTB: Hyosung bikes or going or not.
I ride in these shitty weathers not because im 'hard' or a 'seasoned biker'... I just do it because I like riding, so I will ride.
It's fun!
I ride most days. I have taken the cage probably less than a dozen times this year.
I cannot put my finger on it now, the child has grown the dream has gone
there'll be no more aaarrrrrggghhhhh but you may feel a little sick
I dont mind riding in this rain, but the strong winds make me pucker up a bit.
I ride every day no matter what. In fact my first ever day on a bike when taking the BHS test was in hail. Just did Hutt -> Wellington and its kinda scary. But I find if i tuck in a racing position the wind is bearable.
