Spokes are 10cm or so long and when I went to get some they said they would have to import from Japan and it would cost a little bit.I found this roller up in cambridge a couple of years ago and it has come in handy.

Taranaki guys are always gettin busted , excess paua/undersize, or to many crays. AAAAAArgh, makes me want to scream, string the bastards up I say.I'd like my kids to have the same oportunities as me.
Mind you I used to collect cockles off cheltenham beach in Auckland as a kid, be bloody lucky to find a worm out there now.
    Rant over.
Do you make your own spokes is what I meant ?

Yeah I've been reading some threads about guys moaning of sore arses after couple hundred k's, some road bikes weren't made for comfort.Longest day ride I did on the DR was from Macetown(Arrowtown) down to bluff back up the east coast to picton across the ferry and up to Taranaki took me all that day and into the next day, parents found me half dead the next day(they had heard the DR go thru town).I couldnt walk for a couple of days!!

sounds like one of those rides i used to do in my teens with the aid of a little pink pill and a stamp with a smiley face on it
but that was then, now i'm a nana and a full day's riding leave's me knacked, but happy

Yeah the 16-25yrs saw alot of ks,the thing I like about the DR is I can load it up point it in the general direction I want to go and at some stage I'll get there, no filling up with fuel every 150ks, just sitting back and thumpin.Man I love that thump. If it falls over you just pick it up and carry on.It isn't the best pillion bike tho(poor bitches got sore arses) so I brought the GS, that thing just eats ks in comfort.
