But its ORANGE?????????????????
I must say I cannot stand that poxy orange colour on the Z1000 but have you seen the black one that Red Baron has? Now thats an amazing change. Awful in orange and amazing in black. Have a look, it does not look like the same bike. AMP has a Moto Guzi Scuria (think thats spelt right) all gold Ohlins suspension with a street fighter look. Please God let me win Lotto this weekend.Originally posted by SPman

I WANT ONE.
I'm gonna try moving my arse around more this summer as I am constantly trying to improve my skills. I like the constant learning curve that riding a bike brings. Its a challenge and a buzz. I was considering buying a cheap dirt bike next year to practice on, i.e. hanging the arse end out wheelstands maybe and general bike control which I hope will help with my road skills. I really want to do wheelstands on the road though I realise my poor old GPZ is probably not up to it
I'm one of the worlds best riders. I can wheelie, I can stoppie, I can stunt, hell I can get my shoulder down. I could keep up with Rossie if I wanted to race.
Then I go from bed to bike and somehow it all turns to crap.
OK, so I've got strange tastes in the colors I like my motor vehicles!
It could be worse - like a yellow Ducati!![]()

Yellow? Green? Tangerine???
Let's admit it: the only proper colour for a bike is black.
Occasional exceptions being made for red.

Kawasakis look great in orange and green. The black Z1000 looks pretty bland in my opinion. Just another japanese bike.![]()
Brighter colours are seen better by other road users and involved in fewer accidents, same for cars.![]()
Everyone knows that yellow was THE original colour for Ducati Corse bikes when they started out, just like Ferrarri. When Mr alfa worked at Ferrarri he changed the colour to red, and in time so did Ducati.![]()

Fair enough, BB.
I wasn't being all that serious.
Although I have to admit that if I could have found my Suzuki in black, I would have preferred that.
Your point about visibility is very valid. Until I got my Suzuki (and a new white helmet) both I and the bike were totally black except for the red decal on the tank. A bit scary the time my alternator failed and I rode back from Ngaruawahia in the dark without lights!!
I'm used to getting stick about the yellow, so I never take it personally!![]()

Must admit, that after Orange, Yellow is my fav colour. If I bought another Duck,in would try and get a Yellow one!![]()

black leathers - black bike. did have a thing for those orange and blue cbrs once though![]()
I used to subscribe to the 'bright colours are more visible' theory.. but having been knocked twice at close quarters by inattentive car drivers on my beautifully green kwaka, I'm not so convinced it makes that much difference.
Best combination though I suppose has to culminate in something like BB's Loud-As-An-ACDC-Concert-And-Bright-As-The-Midday-Sun 996!!
for the record, I like the orange Z1000.. not a fan of the green on that one and suspect the black takes away some of the personality of it
"Lately"????? The Tauranga Turnoff to Cambridge section of SH1 has been high on the Police Presence for some 5 years or more. DO NOT EXCEED 110kph along there folks, they're there 24x7!Originally posted by marty

have you tried fanging it down SH1 Cambridge lately????????It's kind of like what Ngaruawahia used to be like 10 years ago.
ps. I like the Z1000 in green. And doesn't the black one have a red seat???

How many highway patrol cars are based out of Pokeno. Isnt it 2 dozen or something?
about that. there's 30-odd based in hamilton for the waikato too, plus the local traffic guys in each town - probably about 45 all up in the waikatoOriginally posted by georgedubyabush

Waikato has 1 Senior Sergeant, 3 Sergeants and 28 coppers, mostly based out of the Te Rapa office, but some living in the likes of Otorohanga are mostly based straight from home.
The Motorway divisions in Auckland (and Wellington???) are completely different to the Highway guys, so they don't count.

One of the last good cops, but who says the law requires 3 sec indication per lane change?
I think you'll find it's 3 secs warning of your intention to turn or change lanes, the number of lanes is not quantified.
