    Weetbix licenses

Puttering towards home yesterday, after a bracing ride in the westerly gale, through the urban area at a steady 50kph.......become aware of engine noise approaching from behind, on the left hand side.....funny, there's only a cycle lane on my left...then comes the car, which drives past, in the cycle lane, passing inside me and then pulling straight back out in front of me into the vehicle lane.....found the horn button eventually (Hadn't used it before) and "tootled melodiously upon the warning device" (and yelled just a little as well......politely of course!). Car then slows way down....so I pass and look questioningly through the driver's window. Driver winds window down as I pass. I get in front, pull off road to left and stop, preparing for a "verbal exchange"......car goes right past, very slowly, driver has passenger window down, shouts "I SORRY, I SORRY".....which prompts me to ask....."When did they start giving out licenses in weetbix boxes?"

Any old third-world license is recognised in NZ for one year. Madness.

So, just another stupid kiwi driver then...

This morning's commute allowed me to tootle melodiously. The driver, strangely enough, met the criteria you have stated...

    no one hears you scream...

Its just a pigs arse that no one hears you swear inside your helmet... theres nothing more frustrating knowing people can't hear the incredibly creative use of expletives aimed at them....

free tip of the day.... open your visor before spitting...
