Time for the track?

Ive been riding for a few years now (about 4) and I love it. Im still quite young and a few mates have also gotten into (and out of) it. But Ive seen two mates in two VERY VERY near fatal accidents, (and seen a license get taken away) and as Im sure you all have experienced it's not very nice. So is it time for the track? Always wanted to get into a club but dont really have the time. Is it better getting into a club or should I just turn up on a track day and give in stacks and just ask questions. I wana keep pushing myself, but it seems that back country roads all seem to one lead to one of three places, no license, the the hospital, or death.

Start with trackdays in slow/beginners group & see how you go! you can always move up a group on the day.
I cant be bothered much for road rides now! after tasting trackdays,No use having a mean GSXR 7friddy if ya cant thrash it on the road eh!.

Too true mate, take it to the track. Wish there were more track days available more often! Imagine one every second weekend!

I have experienced the same sort of things as you michael where friends have near misses and run ins with police. Track days are the best way to keep it safe I reckon. There is an ambulance on sight if you are really crazy, and it releases the urge to want to red line your bike in urban areas or dodgy back roads where farmers use both lanes of the road for driving, and there are plenty of pot holes and cow crap to throw you off.

Even if you go to a test day at puke, its prob gonna be raining but theres one on this saturday. Its cruisy you just turn up and ride and there hardly anyone on the track. Im going up to run in my bike if its fine so ill be just cruzin around if you want someone to follow

For us Suzuki owners there is also the Suzuki trackdays only two left this year though!

Wont say it will change your riding habits on the road but just doing one track day will go a long way toward it ! Its adictive and won't stop at one !

Like others have said.

Start with a track day or two, you will love it no doubt about it.

From there join a race club and get into it.

F3 is a great class and not too expensive to join.
