I think that Guzzi's are a "love them or hate them" kind of bike, in the same vain HD's (although different in all mechanical and aesthetic aspects). I'll happily admit to loving the look of Guzzi's (and hating HD's), and as I recently admitted to DD I almost bought a new one instead of my Blackbird. But them the drugs wore off and I saw common sense

A Guzzi is the kind of bike I'd buy as a weekend cruiser/plodder/project, not something I'd ever consider for everyday commuting and touring which were two of the criteria I needed to consider when I arrived on these fair shores last year.

Here's a couple of classic bikes I'd love to own for fun and to tinker with:

    1. Indian Chief
    2. Triumph Trophy

Now I've probably insulted any Guzzi people out there by insinuating that they don't make decent commuter/tourers or that they're all ancient classics/even new ones! But that's not what I meant. They're special bikes and I need something a bit more vanilla flavoured- for now.

    Good.

What's the difference between a Moto Guzzi owner and a vacume cleaner?

The size of the dirt bag.

    Only joking.

    Dyson's don't have bags.

2/3 of the people here ride bikes, and the other person used to own a bike in Japan. boss rides a '78 BMW R100 S. Had a runing joke about how he liked his women younger than his bike.
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.

(please don't say the new bonnie or else I will be forced to unlease a string of vitriolic invective that would possibly melt your screen)

The character I like is this.

The bike should have a bit of history
    Be tough.
Be rebuildable or at least fixable by an average mech
    Parts should be reasonable.
    It should have style
It should NOT be a new HD (sorry - just not really me ya know)
It should be suitable for a variety of purposes.
Have a touch of blood and thunder about it.

    Most importantly of all....
I should look at it and go phuck me dead! I wants one! - Last bike that did that was an Moto Guzzi 1100i sport. I'll own one one day!

    Someone mentioned a MG Jackal

    Guzzi V11 Cafe Sport

    The new Breva 1100?

    Guzzi California Titanium?

    Maybe a Aprilia Falco 1000?

Perhaps the new KTM 990 Superduke?

How much you wanna spend and what style of bike are you after?
