For someone not familiar with the country - are those roads mostly sealed or mostly gravel or ??? what tyres would be appropriate?
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Got a lightly grooved slick - Michelin Sirac - on the back at present. Should be good then.
Need to start greasing up to management

Yeah, you should be fine Pete. Knobblies won't really be advantageous.
I've dual purpose Kendas on the 400. They're sweet.

Good luck with the arrangements. It's still a fair way off, so you should be ok!

I'd be keen to have a big-girls-blouse option - a shorter pootle around some HB gravel roads. Would anyone else be interested?

If there are enough starters, I'd be happy to help organise something (with some local input on suitable road choices)

DR Girl will arrange a shorter loop for the not so adventurous.
Maybe a cafe or winery enroute perhaps?
    I'll help.

That will also be an option for the "official "ride..eg. inappropriate weather or running overtime.
Thanks for the feedback.(see latest edit on page #1 beach section)

The more adventurous could do the Makairo track.

Will depend on how much time we have and how overgrowen it is.

It's going to be a big day.
