    Dual purpose bike

    Hi All,

I'm thinking of getting a bike for the weekly commute and some w'end fun.

Got wife + twins so have a definite spending limit.

Looked at a 93 Yamaha TT-R 250 in good nick, serviced, WOF and Reg etc.

Just wondering what the feedback is on this type of bike for a 6 foot 2" 100kg chap. Think it would be O.K and tall enough?

Also, I assume it's done a few KM's, any feedback on the sort of $ you'd expect to pay?

I've ridden motorcross bikes on and off for years but never got off my learners, (held it for 15 years) so I just want to get a bike, sit the restricted and follow on and get the full. I still prefer the riding position of the motorcross/dual purpose bikes at this stage.

    Cheers,

    Dave

You won't get a better class of bike for tall guys. Trailies/Dual Purpose bikes are the tallest you can get really. The 250 will still be small, but the best until you can move to the bigger taller dirtbikes.

    Thanks,

In the current market what sort of 250cc Dual Purpose bikes am I likely to find (in reasonably good condition) for somewhere between $2000 - $4000 (Warrented and Registered)?
