What is a Marshin Cheetah worth?

Similar to this but a year younger, 10,000k on the clock and road registered with current WOF.

Perfect for its intended use, so I don't need any commentary on Chinese vs. Japanese.

    What's it worth? Seriously.

Edit - I just realised I missed a price bracket. $2000 to $2250 post it here.

Come on dude, seriously. Its for pottering into the hills with a rifle on my back, will need to be ridden on the road a bit but I don't want a full blown adventure bike, something small and light that a couple of people can heave over the odd fence now and again.

People slag alot of these brands out. But I wonder how many have actually owned one.
Deanohit has been blasting around the country on a Zongshen 200 for well over a year, and has impressed me with it's ruggedness.
If you can pick one of these up for $1500 or close to it. Then I reckon you will get fair value.
Yep, you will want to check bolts n bits regular over a few beers, anddo some kiwi mods ocassionally. But bang for buck, they are hard to beat. MHO
    (waits for "resale" comments etc)

edit: Chinese/Korean m/cycles WILL be a major player in the industry in a few(5-10) years. Instead of dealerships running away from them, they should foster them. not that long ago, people slagged out Japanese marque's. Look at them now. They (the Chinese and Korean's) have been making parts for Honda etc for years, Their day is coming.

these things have improved dramatically durability wise over the last couple of years. We had a couple of 2004 ones that were made of plastic - still did their job but needed lots of hammering and rebending bits. The 2006 one we had seemed to be much more durable.

I think a 2004 vintage would need to be sub $1500

Yea, for pottering round, they are great.
My engine is starting to make funny noises, but that is after 10,000 kms of open road, screaming it's guts out at 100kmh, I've never actually used it for commuting, it's been flat out almost everywhere.

Thats makes it pretty damn good in my book.
And even then, a new motor can be had for just over $400.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
