Glad you and your bike are relatively OK.Yip it seems bikes know when your about to get rid of them, mine's stator has decided it's a good time to die just before I sell it.Having somebody behind you who makes you feel uncomfortable unfortuneatly splits your concentration on whats ahead of you i.e. failling to avoid white lines whilst braking.

If you work late hours often get a dispensation to ride outside learner curfew hours based on your working hours.I considered doing it for my job but as I'm an old bugger I got my restricted fairly quickly.
