    HELP!- broken KLX 250

Bugger !! - I just bought a cheapie 2001 KLX250 on trade me and opened it up to fix a broken kick starter idler gear. What I found is a little worse! I need a RHS engine case, and Gearbox output or countershaft! The end of the shaft has snapped off taking a chunk out of the case and dropping all the bits and bobs into the sump!
So if any one has bits or a whole motor at a reasonable price please get back to me ASAP! I need this thing going!

Can it be repaired? you have to buy the cases in pairs. I'd just make a frankenstein and get any old motor for it. Should be able to get an old XR motor for cheap??

Awww! yous guys are so nice to me!

I need a right hand case but I expect a pair would make more sense - and an output or sprocket shaft for the gearbox. and a kickstart lever and return spring

    A good kicking

I feel for you Cave Weta. The low-life that lied about the condition of that bike needs some rough justice delivered. Pity he doesn't live locally. Don't let him off the hook (Sometimes vengeance should be served piping hot). It annoys me the often stated maxim is 'buyer beware' when it should be 'seller behave.'

I'd be putting it back on Trademe with an accurate description to put a stop loss on your situation. Shouldn't loose too much, seems like plenty of keen buyers for a do-up bike. Have you popped the cam cover to see if any graunchy bits made it upstairs? The broken bits you are looking at are probably only the beginning of the repair costs. You could very easily spend $1500 plus here, and many hours of your valuable life.

If you really want to get the bike running again, I have a gasket set for KLX300 (complete, minus head and base gasket). Check with dealer first but I'm fairly sure 250 is the same. PM me and I'll post it to you if you want it.
