Go Gal and I both have pers plates on our Honda's.

I bought hers (GoGal) on Trade Me second hand, for way less than the current new price, and it's the plate she has wanted for years - real lucky it came up/I spotted it/won the auction.

I bought mine (CoCar or Company Car) about 10 years ago and forgot all about it when my new Trophy was written off, - just got it re made ($20 or so) a year ago.

I only want the one plate, but paying the price for two? I have a problem with that. If the price was $350-$400 then yeah.

I would give jrandom 5 Quid for his...whats that around $15??...
I have looked into this previously myself... and come up with a few good ideas to boot. The $700 odd dollars is apparantly for the future rights to the letter/number combination, therefore one plate or two plates makes no difference. (I felt the same way as you - 2 plates full price, 1 plate therefore = half price) but not so.

I do reckon its way too high tho - considering that the 'actual' cost to manufacture is around $8. Nothing like printing your own money ay?

As for anonomiminintity (?) I dont think it matters all that much if you arent someone who goes out of their way to break the law or do supposedly 'stuntish' acts...

Next time I have $700 I just have to spend and there's nothing else I want - then maybe.

But that would mean there was no more food and no more alcohol on the planet... or petrol for that matter.

I like my plate...so I'm easily recogniseable but then I dont have any desire for anonymity. When I lived in Auckland I used to get loads of PMs from people saying "Saw you on the Southern the other day, your bike sounds way more than 600cc bro" and stuf like that.

    It's nice.

If it's just an expression of individuality your after, There are companies out there with state of the art laser cutting sign writing thingies, that can make just about any design you can think of to stick any where on your bike.

They look really good, they distinguish your bike from the other four million cbrs, they don't cost anything like number plates, you can have any design your brain can come up with( MARTYBABE IS GREAT) for example, and if ya get bored with it or sell yer bike, ya just peel it off and bin it.

Oh and if you spotted making a silly (mistake) on the road, 7 out of ten people won't remember your plate said (BOOBS).

    Just a thought.
    Oh bugger

Surely the bike will be seen over those months... but with a licenced rider at the helm. Sticky will be riding all over the place on her... Ain't that right, officer!

Couldn't justify the $$$ on a personalized plate myself, plate would be worth more than the bike
