    Strangely, nor have I...

I fitted a personalised plate to my bike after I finished the restoration two years ago. It just seemed to finish the bike better than simply getting the next random plate off the pile at the local testing station. I had been able to make the call on everything else I'd fitted to the bike, and it was nice to be able to choose the plate too.

I'm sure my wife will notice if I begin to exhibit any change of sexual orientation.

as long as you don't see your plate as an investment, if its model specific you may find a very limited market if you want to sell it later on - it can take several years and you will end up giving the plate away for a lot less than you paid for it

Was going to get 86GSX for the bike(available),then thought nah no good when bike is sold,no good having it on another model or make. The wife suggested IBTIT,spaced it out to read I BT IT,applied and got it,couldn't put it on as a message plate, but if I put it on the car can turn it into message plate.Thought yep they're naff and $$$,but thought fuck it cancer sucks and I'm alive.

I love to try and work out plates. Have seen some good ones on motorbikes too. My fav was PIGB8

I had a personalised plate on my car 'cxewrx', was funny looking in the rear vison mirror and see the expressions on the person in the vehicle behind as they worked it out. BUT it wasnt til after purchasing a personalised plate that i realised it would be harder to hide, in a carpark from. Luckly it never came to that...
personalised plates are expensive to purchase

    I like them.

Just a shame the bikes are restricted to 5 letters/numbers, cars get a extra one.

Bike ones should be a lot cheaper - Max $300 and I think they would sell more.

I have one in mind if I come into spare money (WTF's spare money?).

Would love a personal plate, but could never justify the cost... (http://www.plates.co.nz/prices/)
There are far better biking related things I could put that money towards...

    Talking I had one...

When the personalised plates came out.
    It was a novelty.
    I was first.
    $375

Then it stayed in the garage.

When it was time to get the bike back on the road I realised how dorky it was.
    So I sold it.

    Never again.

Wish I still had the pic to show you.

    But it was:

    MY HOG

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I had BMWCS on my Beemer when I owned it, and sold it with the plate as it couldn't really be transferred to anything else than a Beemer. I was asked if I would sell it separately so I said $500 (I paid $330 I think for it), which was less than what a new plate was going for, but was told that was too dear!

I then got LOOCE for the Goose - but it has zeros instead of Os. Old guys ask if my name is Lucy, but some people get that it's a Loose Goose!

If they are now retailing for $750 then I would have to want one really, really badly to buy one again.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
