Ruh-roh, I've done gone done it now.

That's right. I purchased my first bike! Had her for just over a week now and it's been a bloody brilliant just over a week. Couldn't really ask much more given the limitations I imposed on myself that I wanted a four-stroke sporty upright commuter (having learnt to ride on a TZR, which ain't exactly ideal for anything but Sunday blats). Fully insured now so no more fear when leaving the driveway... which leads to me having done the Beachlands/Maraetai/Clevedon loop a few times on her now. Next stop, Kaiaua Bay!

Without too much further adieu, I bring you greetings from Maraetai Beach! The lovely girl in blue is named "Charlene", by the way.

p.s guess you guys & gals will be seeing me on the 250 and south/eastern rides now. I can't vaaaaait.

edit: That picture was taken with my phone. This one is taken with zeocen's camera, much nicer!

nice ride mate i love the hornet 250's great commuters and can move nicely too always wanted one over the zxr but couldn't afford it. ultimately zxr was better choice for thrashing but still... hornet is just awesomely practical!
same here i ride rather briskly in teh country but do slow cruises through the urban areas out your way at nights most of the time gimme a heads up if you need company on ya rides lol.

Wednesday shenanigans with zeocen. He takes photos at odd times.

You guys are right, the Hornet is a sweet deal. Our trip out to Kawakawa Bay was an absolute pleasure... apart from the excessive roadworks between Clevedon and Kawakawa! A lady told us the gravel was much better but it really wasn't. But! I more than halved the chicken strips from the previous owner with my complete lack of riding experience (I think it's just touching 1,000kms). So we're doing fairly well there I think.

Private messages are being sent out if any of you want to hook up for a ride. Got the day off today and I have very itchy feet.

Heads up given, thanks for the ride tonight.

First time in the dark. Couple of new moments like not being able to see the road due to oncoming headlights. Not my favourite but looking elsewhere on the road is something I'll have to get used to.

    Wasn't too slow, was I?
