    rg150

Hey guys! I am very keen to get into racing on a track. I have made an earlier thread about this. However I do not own a suitable bike for getting started! I could race my 2008 Hyosung GT250R but I use it every day (ALL DAY!! I love to ride) which means that if I was to drop it in a race, I would be in a lot of trouble!!

Is there anyone out there that owns an rg150 or knows of where I could get one? It has to be something that I could start to race on. A real cheap and nasty one. I can do a fair bit of mechanical stuff to get it going again if need be. If it is a beat up bike that only has a few kms left until it blows then that sounds good to me! I really would like to be able to buy something that is less than $1000. That is how nasty I am willing to go!

    Cheers!

Unless someone reads this and feels charitable that one I pointed out on trademe is probably about as good as you will find. (assuming it lives up to the pics and info - it should do.)
Buying a REAL cheap and nasty one may be a false economy if you have to put much into it.
$1500 is about right for a mechanically sound one.
The extra 5 hundie now could save a grand down the track.
BUT I also reccomend against getting a bank loan to go racing, It will just cost you LOTS more in the long run and make it even HARDER to keep racing in the future.

Maybe sell a kidney or somthing?

Also unless you are really good at selling things on don't bother with an RGV150 because it won't take that long untill you want an RG or KR150.

Just my opinions and all of course.

I agree with you entirely about the rgv150!!

Also yeah depending on how "cheap" and "nasty" it is, it all depends. I really am short of $$ at the moment, but I really need to get into racing! That one you told me to look at on trademe is wicked, but I am short of about $700 for that! Which is a shame because it looks like a great way to start racing on a bike that is all set to go for me.

I can vouch for this bike being a good one at the right price.
Sorry dude but they just don't seem to go any cheaper than $1500 at the moment.

Hmm yeah I can understand. Maybe I should start working my ass off and get the monies to buy a bike to start racing on. I am sooooo keen to get on the track! Haha.

Thankyou for the offer mate. That is the kind of thing I am after. And believe me, if I wasn't short of a few hundy I would be taking that bike off your hands ASAP!! Cheers

Yip, would totally recommend AJ's one as well

Know what it's like to be just a few hundy from a bike you really want... All the best with it eh!
