I want to do it, I did it a couple of years ago in the rain on the 200. Meri waved the entry form at me the other day, asking "you going?" When I said no, thinking I wuz gonna get a bollocking over the cost, she says, "why not??!!"

Hmmmmm... Might have to get rim locks for the 640 after all.
    Cheers,
    Colin

I'll be doing the 6hr on the 640e, although i'll have it stripped down to the bare minimum tho. Would be great to have an adv bike presence It'll be my first ever proper offroad event

Will bring cd of Safari photos and some other interesting bits and peices to the shed night at WW's if anyone wants a look.

It would actually be a really good choice.
The rear sussies and seat are great. The bar position is fine. Some big footpegs would be necessary...

    What are the forks like?

Front shocks now have oil in them : and I've extended the footpegs and taken care of the way they sagged down too

the Norton eventually stopped puking oil everywhere and ran fine even though the brakes stayed on holiday.

Didn't stop a bit of 'friendly competition' developing through queen charlote - woohoo that scrambler is sweet - this could be true love .

The Norton needs a shortened front end off an '83 XR250.

Bigger diameter forks and a disk brake is an upgrade in my books.
Can't go too modern or it'd look odd(er).
