Anything out East is going to cop the worst of the weather. There is a blocking high in the Tasman stalling all the fronts in the Strait. So Patriarch/Black Bitch is not so appealing.

Padmei, the MT21 is cactus by about half worn. Not good, another reason I prefer the T63 as it hangs on for a lot longer. But it'll do.

To get the day off to a good start, I'll come in via Mt Heslington Rd (always a good blat ) and explore Bridge/Gibbs Valley Rds.

I just fitted the muffler off my KTM on to the @ so it looks like we're gonna have to have a 'sound off'

New air filter installed and I even mounted the tank so it's held on by more than just gravity

Bugger - you guys have all the fun. Just noticed this thread tonight, reckon I might have gate-crashed if I'd seen your plans earlier! Not too keen on a frosty 200km morning ride to catch up on Sunday (though I DO have bar heaters now ;-)). Post pix later to enhance the envy.

Other rides in the pipeline are a recce thru Port Underwood, Anatori (or as close as I can get to it) & somewhere else that escapes me at the moment.

Also I'm keen to tackle some of those Central Otago roads sometime (was a bit snowy when we went to the Brass) - so I'll let YOU know if plans develop in that direction. We made it to Cape Reinga in Jan, I'd like to get to Bluff before the end of 2010 for some kind of 'completeness' goal I can't quite define...

Soundoff will have to be postponed. I got the muffler (WR450) on with a bit of grinding and welding, but it is a bit long in the body and the mounting holes didn't line up (go figure). Will have to rethink it , maybe put it on a big angle kinda like a xt660.

It did sound good though, although a bit loud in the shed.

BTW Filco have a set of R1 mufflers in there. Brand new only want $175 for the pair. I ummed and arred but took the Wr one instead.

Shit Mrs woodmn will kill me when she finds out that I spent holiday money on the WR one, so better not.

I suggest you have a look at them first if you are interested, cos they may not suit. the upside is you will have a spare, or maybe a pair for the beemer.
