Or 26hrs from Gatwick.![]()
I can smell you....
Keen but only have the big orange pig at the moment.....think it could do any of your trails on its scorps Nordie???.
Need to get out. 2 weeks of flu....driving me mad.....need to crash!!!!.
I can smell you....
Right branch Wairoa would be no problems. Once the water levels go down that is...
I reakon he woulda been o.k. todayeven on the slippery clay bits
Was a nice ride today despite the main jet breaking it's thread and rattling around in the bottom of the bowl early on in the day, and we located Nordies jetting kitI think the Emporium needs a sort out.
Went to Picton then through the Port Underwood rd, Me and mrsJ had never been right through. We took a detour to Tumbledown Bay, and I wanted to go over to Fighting bay, but it turns out the road is private and locked up, chatting to a local there seems to be a bit of security in there aswell. I guess they don't want anyone cutting the cable and letting the North Isl drift away.
Despite the shithouse coffee I made, and the rain it was a good day out.
No pics as the camera had a flat battery, but MrsJ may have some on her phone.

Bikeless weekend for me, camping in the rain out at Sandhills Creek (Anatori).
An observation: the only bikes we saw loaded up with gear were adventure bikes, and most were heading westerly, even today. Lots of sprotsbikes in Takaka and also over the Hill.
This weekend was not the time to ford the Anatori: the ford was 80m wide and the river almost over the road on the east bank. The Patarau R. just south of the bridge was 270m wide!!![]()
Cheers,
Colin

I didn't do any moto riding down there however read 3 moto mags & watched a very cool dvd of the Gas Dash in WA. Topo you should check it out if you can - very much like the safari. Got me really keen to get back onthe bike again
My back feels fantastic now after a few weeks of physio & a weekend soaking in hot pools so as soon as I got home I jumped on the KLX & shot up the Maunga for a quick blat. Very cool -apart from the rhs of the handlebar pretending it is a cliponA relicformthe last XC.
Jatz you went right past our bach in Port Underwood. I've tryed to get the key from the local farmer (old friend of the family) but they aren't too keen on motos down there.
I have mtbed over there & back & to tell you the truth there isn't much to see. If you are keen on another explore I'd really like to take a few bods thru the forest - verycool scenery. I think I can get a key as long as it's not in middle of summer.\
I'm gonna ride next weekend if anyone wants to play.Maybe Wairoa gorge again?

The intrepid pair from Mot pulled in to home with a DR350 that wouldn't run with the throttle open...
Pulled the carb out and found the thread and main bit of the main jet in the float bowel...
Let's stick a DR650 main jet in there. What could possibly go wrong?
Well apart from actually finding a DR650 main jet that is.
A phone call was made to the Piglet and he headed off.
Of course just after that we found my jet kit...
So by the time he arrived from Mot, the DR was already going...
If the camera was a little to the right, you'd see how much the river was up...
It was a very twisty-turny ride with 2 hands needed on the bars for the most part, hence less photos than usual...
We followed this car for ferkin ages through Queen Charlotte Drive...
Campers were pulling over and letting us through but this Richard Head didn't get the hint...
Generic Sounds scenes - yawn...
A bit of wet clay on the road but overall the conditions were remarkably good.
Finally! (Almost) Fighting Bay...
Coming back from interrogating the locals. They weren't keen on what Jatz was offering so we just tried to fill the bay up with skimming stones. The tide went out a few feet during the coffee break so we stepped over and retrieved all Jatz's stones so he could have another go...
"Tennis Shoulder" apparently
On the way out we turned left and continued toward Rarangi and it rained all the way...
Jatz and I went up the loop track a little way. Must come back and investigate further...
The little TT ran very smoothly and all I would have changed would have been a little more waterproof gear. Any waterproof gear actually...

Nice nordie - but pics are not up to your usual high standards - gonna have to get your auto pilot button working on the bike.
I am seeing if I can get a set of renthal enduro highs in NZ. They are 130mm high vs the 90mm high of generic CR highs. I can get them from England for $121 incl freight (not GST tho however VAT was included). i would like to see if anyone in NZ carries them.
It's actually amazing the lack of NZ online moto shops & their pretty limited range of products- unless of course I'm not googling correctly.
