    Loud downpour too.

We're house sitting for a few weeks overlooking Tahuna, Airport, Rabbit Island etc, and the views and light show were quite spectacular...

There's a spare yellow DR650 in the shed here...
Dunno where the key is though.
Only 13,000km on the clock and its for sale...

what about the TT Nordie? Are you really gonna sell it to for the KLX downgrade?

Well what do you do when it's pissing down with rain with thunder & lightening? Go surfing at Tahuna that's what! Waves were just weak chop but had a bit of fun with the oldest girl. Didya know that those bloody wetsuits shrink after about 14yrs ? Bloody missus couldn't stop laughing. I was ok till I wanted to move.

Anyway i started cleaning Snotso for sale & realised that the bloody speedo doesn't work. I had been using my GPS as the speedo & even got a WOF with it. However I did some research & ...

Speedometer means an instrument in a motor vehicle that continuously indicates to the driver the forward speed of the vehicle in either kilometres per hour (km/h) or miles per hour (mph). For clarification, this definition does not include the speed provided by a GPS system.

So I am going to swap the trailtech off Schmidt & put on the KLX. Then I will prob put one of these on Schmidt

If someone was silly enough to buy the TT, I would probably end up with a DRZ/KLX400 or even the other way and get a DR250 or similar and stick a trials tyre on the back as an even more lightweight fun machine.

Might be an issue if there is no continuous backlight...Looked at similar units before going with the Trailtech Vapour. But I guess you could always strap on a torch
IT'S JUST BETTER WHEN THERE'S TWINS INVOLVED..

It has a back light that apparently you can toggle on or off so it runs when the wheel starts moving. I'm pretty sure my WOF tester wouldn't worry. I want to get an Acewell later on for the BMW but there is about $250 difference so i can wait.

Backlight is nice but if they test in the daytime, they can't really see.
For about 4 years a GPS was my speedo on the Nordie and it passed all its warrants. My reading of the regs was "speedo must go up when vehicle going forward". The regs may have been changed/fine tuned.

The OEM speedo is one of those crazy expensive replacement items, they are around $900NZD. Sometimes there are a few second had ones on ebay but this is the only one I can see today at $750AUD ($914NZD).

I have a basically brand new one here off my bike, it has 60km on it. I was going to hold onto it and try and get some decent money for it, but for the sake of ease you can take it off my hands for $100+ freight

Thanks bro but it is the speedo drive in the hub that is munted. I take it from the high number of aftermarket speedos on DRZs that it is a common fault.
