Dunno.
7pm at the Apple Valley turnoff sound OK?
Tuesday is walking night with the Wakatu Striders.
Wednesday is good for us though.
If you can't bring a pillion a stuffed toy or blow-up doll bungied to the seat will suffice.
Should make a good photo
Tues might suit me for a two up , bit tied up with grandkids this week , keen on a night ride too but will prolly have to make it an overnighter from here,
I,ll try to get one of those stuffed blowup dolls as an emergency backup if I cant get any interest from the real thing
wednesday sounds good to me -sorry US!!!!!

GO BRO GO
Hmmmm, pillions, let me think about it.....okay, NOOOOOO!!!!
Fresh snow on the hills this morn boys....I'm at work, but can see Richmond ranges and Mt Arthur has had a good dusting last night. Could be a good day to pull a sickie and go play
Right you lot of pikers
There were reports of snow up Ben Nevis and the Richmond Ranges
Left Apple Valley at 7:20pm and headed toward Old Coach Road where there was just 1 small pile of logs and a loader left of all the gear that was up there.
Getting darker up Rosedale and I found I ride gravel better at night I think because I can't see as much so I'm not worrying about it and just riding and letting the bike move around more.
The view from the summit of Rosedale Hill.
Down the other side and other than a few "shadows" taking flight and heading into the trees it was uneventfull but I noticed I could cut corners better as you could tell from the oncomming lights where other vehicles were.
Jacobs Ladder was worrying me as I usually can't get it's turns right but this time it was a doddle.
Back down the valley from the summit of Jacobs Ladder.
The ride to the Dove Hill was a bit boreing as it was on the seal and 100kph with the visor down and fogging a bit but the Dove hill was fun.
I coasted all the way down much better than I have during the day.
View from the Dove Hill/Pigeon Valley intersection.
I decided to head straight back home from Wakefield as I was only wearing my thin gloves and don't have heated grips like some pansies and didn't want to risk Ben Nevis solo.
I need to do a bit of work as my dash lights still light me up like a christmas tree and are not good for my night vision.
The bar risers work nicely and I found myself cruising the road back from Wakefield at 90kph 'cause that's the speed the GSXR pipe sounded best at
I also took Mondo Enduro, Terra Circa and African Odyssey with me in case they were getting bored just going round and round in the DVD player.
Looks like it was really dark
I may have used a little artistic license in the above pics
Some more boring photos...
Nice and open through Old Coach Road looking back to Nelson and on to the Rosedale Saddle and surprising an Ent up Jacobs Ladder The back of Jacobs ladder had much more friendly trees a bit of night speed up the Dovedale Hill followed followed by the Dovedale Hill summit and through Wakefield back to Nelson
Damn I'm glad I didn't go, looks frightning al that darkness in the pictures.
Glad to hear your looking after my babies though, taking them along for company.
Think I might have a look at this Maungatap tomorrow,it's been a while since I did it on a bike, don't feel so nervous riding 'round Nelson now I have my full
