Went to cycle treads to discuss tyres and he kind of convinced me I should just try the standard tyres, so if anyone is going on a ride and they don't mind a super slow follower let me know.

If it gets too much I'll just turn around, obviously loose mud is not going to be a winner with Dunlop D208s...if it doesn't work then i'm after a DR250 Djebel, or a DRZ250/400 E...

Maybe a DRZ 18/21 wheelset is all you need.

18/21 wheel sets for DRZSM's are like gold - new front alone is approx $1,200.
Have also seen guys gravel riding std SM wheels with EO7's fitted front & rear.

I was going to buy that 21 front, but not quick enough to save for it...

and with the 18/21 wheel set I might as well have a DR-Z400E! They're also 7ish kg lighter/more powerful, the only thing I'd lose would be the USD front, and the big front disc...

Is everyone on the ride through town on Saturday?

But you would have a 17" wheel set as well.

Otherwise just get some rims laced up to your hubs.
