Not that i'm obsessed with speed it's just that i seem to be spending more and more time at the limit of what the 640'll pull.

I'm running 16/42 (standard gearing) with a 120/100 r18 rear at aprox 20psi. It's actually a KIWI-X MX tire, might get 1200km out of it but the smile/mile factor is huge!!

Not with the gearing he's running and the conditions weren't conducive to testing that sort of thing...

I wonder if you are getting some knobby tyre slippage at high tarseal speeds? Just a thought.
    Cheers,

All testing done on gravel test track so some slippage is always going to happen, although haven't found any difference on the seal.

I manage a good top end speed off the 640A, running 40/16 half a tank of fuel and Pirelli MT21 on the rear. I have had it tapped out at 178Kph, but it was down a nice hill. I do think it has more beans if conditions are right but would need to put the GPS on it to get accuracy.
On the flat, good conditions 160Kph is a good speed for the bike, cruising at 135-145Kph is very comfortable for it.

DR250 is alive! Have done 100km so far this afternoon solution was new plug cap (I don't think this fixed the problem but good to have) and a new replacement stator. The clutch was adjusted terribly...hoping Fran didn't take a video when he saw me leave as I sounded like an idiot.

She's still pretty smokey...but seems to be getting better the more I ride it!

I'd be keen to follow along wherever, as long you expect me to go slow and fall off!
