Went for a hoon over the Porika Braeburn and Maruia and back today. beautiful riding conditions, although a bit icy in places. just took me time really but decided on a whim to go to the top of the Porika via the pole track which was bloody slippery and icy. My first attempt was aborted because of no traction so I went down to see if there was another way, unfortunately the puddle at the bottom was a lot deeper and gluggier than it looked. spent about an hour pulling the klr out of the mud and then pushing it out of the swampy sticky crap to somefirm ground. Eventually got up the hill by "tacking" my way up across the ruts and icy grassy bits. Ok I just went full noise and bounced uncontrollably from rut to rut until I somehow ended up at the top.

The rest of the ride went good and the Maruia saddle was as brilliant as ever, thats gotta be one of the best roads there is for a good fang.
    Some pics

I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

No not an @...that would defeat the purpose of my too cheap to pay $320/year for a bike the shop has had for a month, and still has protest.

    50cc of 2008 Shanyang SY50 goodness, looks like a CG125 - but with a Honda C50 motor...

I'm tempted to do the worlds slowest cafe racer - that or knobblies and have the worlds slowest/least capable dual purpose bike (it would need a monster sprocket on the rear...)
