Woodman you have obviously not sat on Fluffy's seat. It is very comfy - why stand up when you're comfortable?

You know how Nordie was so so hesitant about riding a KLR the other week? He had the same face on when Fluffy offered him a ride on the 950 so it wasn't the brand- he definately feels guilty about cheating on the wallowing wallower.

Oh I have sat on fluffys seat and i agree it is comfy, standing up is slightly less comfy and laying in a creek is less comfy still.

what did you think of the 990?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

    I liked it

The seat was far too low though and that stock screen
Nice riding position and the tank didn't get in your way when standing.
When riding it you quite easily forget it's a 990.
    Until you wind it open...

A 950s would be the go for me.

Cool. Next time you crash I'll blur your face so no-one will know it's you in the photo.

Only rode it for a few minutes but couldn't get comfortable or confident with the throttle jerking snatchy thing . Too much ponies for this boy. I'm used to the soft 20-something horsepower takeoff from Gonzo

i have to confess that after my abysmal river crossings the other weekend I rode all the bridges instead of the fords. I only went down to that particular ford cos I thought I was going to meet a 4wd on the bridge.
I thought I was a gonna as it looked a bit deep so closed my eyes & powered thru it. Got thru some how but was worried Fluffys tyres might be worse than mine on the slipperyness.

He approached valiantly & I'm not sure whether he saw the spectators lining up along the road as he plunged in nor heard their ohhs & ahhs when he dropped it.

I was when he rode back for another go at it. I put it down to oxygen deprivation from when he was under. The spectators by that stage had roused their uncles & aunties off the camp stretchers to watch this crazy motorcycle man. He didn't disappoint them

The mighty KTM was spitting water at me as I followed it for the next few k's after that.

I like riding with you fluffybum

Great minds think alike aye. Also no FI snatchness either. Stock screen is a little bit noisy but not to bad for my height. Biggest issue is lack of air flow for cooling when the going gets hot. Bloody brilliant in crap weather.

I just looked through my "trips" photos and since the Dusty Butt 2007 I've been through the Maungatapu about 49 times.
That's only the times I've taken photos...
I'd been going through for a year before that and also maybe 10 or so times since without photos...

I'm not sure if it is a good idea for all and sundry to email the council chap. Might just piss him off having to deal with the emails and he's already agreed to meet. Do send them to me, via PM if necessary, and I'll present them in bulk at our meeting. Organisations usually like to deal with other organisations, not a big rabble. After I meet with the fellah, I will know more; those expressing interest will be invited assuming the Council is happy to do so. As I said before, I am happy to spearhead this, if we have to form some kind of collective... that's a bridge to cross (or river to ford ) for later.

    .
Cheers for this, I'll forward you something via pm in the next day or so if it's not to late. I've just got back from a few days in the western isle.
