Umopom if you pass on to Gaaarrrieee (Brommy accent) to search for oil consumption/ checking oil in Thumpertalk He'll find some interesting info. I'm not worried about mine so much now as I think I was checking it incorrectly. If he wants to monitor his, we can compare on the DRZ/KLX thread buried somewhere in here.

Getting 100kms before hitting fricking reserve is a bit on the nose tho I might have to exercise a bit more self control on the throttle.

    Cheers
Thanks for the info Padmei, onto Thumpertalk to sort my oil woes, for the record I filled up at Tahunanui Mobil and managed the days ride and back to Nelson without hitting reserve?

What's the plan this weekend fellas? Taking a long weekend (up Friday back Mon) to visit the land of NADS and have just sorted out the rack for transporting the EXC.

Saturday works best for me but I need a guide or two to check out some of these "new" tracks. Seems I might have been a weekend too late.

    Cheers R

We're "pansies" down here it seems!

not only has my favourite thread been bumped from the most active on the KB homepage but it's also apparent that someone from wellywood sees fit to pick on us clearly superior south island folk... haven't been called a pansie in a while, but them's fighting words! Surely we won't stand for this! Maybe organize a ride down the sounds and cut that cable so that north island floats away...

We tried that a few weeks ago. Took side cutters too. Couldn't get near Fighting Bay.

Went for a great blat this avo thru Hira forest. Only got 1/2way up Hurricane Hill before deciding it was a tad slippery. I've figured out that Nelson has very slipperyrocks when theyare wet.

I'm not sure if I'm paranoid however I saw 3 cases where branches were draped across tracks. I saw 2 on the way to the wall (I stopped & removed one on a blindish descent). There was another right up by Kaka hill on the exit shute of a track parallel to the road.
These branches were about arm thickness, & didn't look like they could have fallen down to be perpendicular to the track.
I don't know I may be imaging things but found it a bit odd, they were miles apart so maybe a coincidence.
Anyway a good muddy ride with only 3 mtbers, a goat & a rabbit keeping me company out there.

Hope you are all permited up there mr padmei. we're all sorted now, easy to do and i think it's worth it to make sure we have access to the great tracks that nelson's got!

MX tomorrow if the weather holds out after being postponed today, going to go have a look. would love to have a go but jumps freak me out a bit.

Not sure really. I'm gonna see what the weather conditions are like before Icommit to anything. The good thing is I've got some new knobs so as long as it's not like this weekend I'll rubber up & go for it.
