Nice article, Padmei!
Nice article, Padmei!
Took the tractor for a wee ride today.
Decided last night that i haven't been up Mt patriarch for about 6 years, and then only once, so headed off early this morning over the maungatap. Had digger issues with not one but two diggers blocking the track. Had a yak with the drivers who are a bit per[lexed at why they are spending so much keeping the maunga in good nick.interesting?
Got lost trying to find Mt patriarch but eventually found it. The road up was a mix of rocks and washouts and slippery mud and moss and there was a weird slippery orange section too which was fcuken slippery. It was a lot further to the top than I remembered but it was a great ride albeit foggy and raining.
Headed down and then went through the tua marina? track and then rode over Port Underwood road. Port Underwood road was fantastic and I indulged in a bit of spirited riding as it were. I need to do something with my brakes cos they faded something shockinga few times.
When I got onto the seal on the road to Picton is where the fun started. One word bloody slippery. I have never had so much rear wheel slippage on tar before, scary but fun in a motard kinda way. fuelled me and the bike up in Picton and headed home through Queen charlotte .
Great day, no bike issues and managed to stay on.
Nads we need to do a mission into Port Underwear soonish. Lots more tracks up there now.
BTW the pics aren't in order.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Good stuff. We need to do another snow ride up there. With knobs on this time.
I don't think 705's would be happy in snow...
Cool pics.....so when are we going.
This could be a BRP ride. Have now reduced the float height, so it runs like its not on choke all the time. Should get better mpg to......hehe did i just say that.
I can smell you....
Sunday - 2nd round of the 3hr cross country. I'm going but again need to arrange transport. Here's the blurb (cheeky buggers):
JUNE 12 RD 2 NELSON CROSS COUNTRY SERIES - KINZETT CREEK TADMOR (from May)
Round 2 of the Nelson Cross Country series is on Sunday June 12
Shane and Rob say
WET OR FINE
The track has been tinkered with and significantly reworked from earlier events so now a KTM 640 adventure tourer (not ridden by Shane) can get around it, so that means great fun for the Junior and Senior and the Clubmen riders - whatever the weather throws at us. We have even been advised that the forecast rain for Saturday night has been cancelled due to premature emptying of the rainery in the Tadmor area, so Sunday's round should enjoy some of that non-wet stuff we haven't seen much of lately!!!.
Due to the May weather postponement another round will be fitted into the calendar at a later stage. Call Shane for more information.

Nick Fluffy's trailer and tack it on Padmei's Oddysey...
I'll ride over 'cause me and me bike are staunch.
I def won't be riding over there on Sunday. It'll be a mudbath.
I was pleasantly surprised how good that photo spread looked in the mag.
In life as in dance Grace glides on blistered feet
Common Nordie, where's the pics? No video please, it just makes me look even slower than i really am!

GO BRO GO
Spent an afternoon on the DR250S, carb is virtually rebuilt, just need to borrow some circlip pliers from Dad to replace the needle jet and we'll be done. Managing to get a wee way off idle at the moment.
Next step is to tidy up the wiring as we've got a bit of a flickering headlight, pretty nice to hear it running again though.
In other news, Han is pregnant again so I need to get this bike running as a new bike will be 2 1/2 years away otherwise!![]()
Well done on lots of different levels there Will
Went to go for a quick hoon this arvo but the uber reliable klr let me down for the first time ever. Wouldn't idle and then would only start on full throttle so it must have been fuel related. Couldn't see any tubes off so pulled the carby off, pulled it to bits, sprayed clean r carb through every orifice, put it back together and it ran like a dream. Still dunno what was wrong and missed out on my ridebut a pleasant enough arvo in the shed anyway.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
