Workshop manual posted in Mot today...hope it gets here in time for tomorrow! I wonder if one of my spare bottom ends might work for Piglet's bike...will bring anyway!
Only if it's a DRZ bottom end I think Willdat![]()
I have been offered another complete DR250,older twin shock one, with an intermitent spark problem. I think I'll give it a miss though, could be a stator or cdi problem as all other bits have been checked.
I won't be thereso if any of youse others want to grab the movies, go for it
All good for tomorrow thanks Topo, although I will have to renege on the bbq offer - it needs a clean! (unless anyone is desperate for a bbq in which case I'll get off my arse and clean it.)
Anytime from 7pm onwards.
Having just received a care package from o/s I have a few jobs can be done:
- install 950SE/690E front brake master cylinder
- install new chain and sprockets (including muchos bling ironman rear) which will involve the use of the Binford 9000 to machine the case saver to Duke specs
- various dodgy fasteners can be replaced
- also it's time to re-fit the touring bits: rack, pillion pegs etc.
Anyone who gets the urge can have a crack at the dr250. It should just fire up with fresh fuel and maybe a clean spark plug, pending how leaky the carb is. Which reminds me: I've also got some welding needs doing: a couple of bits on the bike plus also some on my trailer. This will be for another time. Anyone got a welder and skills that could help, please?
Padmei, bring a USB stick for the Wattsy vid. You're welcome to raid the rest of the collection, too.
Cheers,
Colin

You can do the trailer thenit's already been bodged.
However the bike bits are an internal fairing bracket that nobody sees, and the bash plate which is so badly munted no-one would care about any dodgy welds - but that is alloy and might need a practised hand. That bash plate lives up to it's name and has certainly earned its keep.
Cheers,
Colin

About the Zombie Bike
It has been sitting outside in the weather minus a few bits and pieces since xmas and I was having a bit of a tidy up,
so I put the rear wheel back on with the idea of rolling down the hill to stick it in the shed, of course I then turned on the gas kicked it in the guts and away it went !! After a quiet little putter around (no front brake) I was so impressed with it I decided to let it into the basement to be with the other bikes.
However later on I noticed it was crying tears of fuel even though the gas was turned off, so I let it go outside again.... it then stopped crying and looked kindof lonely but happy. I think it was pineing for the outdoors.
Anyway I turned on the pooter and lo and behold nordie had just posted a pic of said Zombie bike on buggs's thread
Uncanny aye.

He did it!
Seated or standing?
I went for a coffee at Pelorus and the one time I don't use the anti-fog inserts, I get a fogged up lens![]()
