Thought he was a bit quiet on Sunday. He must have a backup vehicle to carry his gear tho.

Me. I was looking at his progress on SPOT tracking the other day. No trip dramas apart from some searing desert heat.
He scored the route maps off my workmate, so JC has been sending him some updates.

Same workmate is off to Chile/Peru in Oct and will be riding a lot of the Dakar route. Bastardo as they say in Spanish.

Didn't know he was already there...

This means the Top of the South Tag is up for grabs.

I would if it was 10minutes drive away.
Pierres taking javaheads KTM apparently for a thrash.
If anything I'll do a quick ride round the forest.
Went for a ride today but only got as far as Moutere - too chilly so went into the workshop instead.

I want to have a look at climbing up from the Gun Club valley to the base of Mt Everest.

Chatting to a group trying Mt Everest t'other weekend and they'd come up from the gun club, so it's possible...

Was that you I saw on the motorway headed to Richmond?
The thermo on the DR didn't get much past 7* all day.

Yes All the ingredients were there for a great ride but too many layers etc etc. I wasn't sure it was you til you passed - your bike looked blue for some reason.
Not sure about the forest ride yet. i'll see what the family are doing.

Watching the Olympics ceremony a the mo - absolutely excellent stuff I have to say.

Was initially keen for the Laid Back at Borlase, but it is probably trailer queen stuff and I don't have a towbar. Last ride out there with DOT enduro knobblies was very hard in the wet greasy stuff on the A grade bits, especially - but not limited to - the steep uphills!

Not sure if I am fit enough to ride either as I have an injured ankle and finger... must do a test ride today to find out. Might not even be able to get boots on over swollen foot. I was considering going out as a helper and just having a quiet tootle around the easy stuff marshalling maybe, dunno.
    Cheers,
    Colin

I'm going to have a play up Sharlands in the morning. It's forecast to start raining in the afternoon.

Should have come over for a ride...
Had to be more fun than spending the last 4 hours removeing old hard tyres
that were corroded to the rims.. Then the rusted spoke nipples..
had to cut over half the spokes...

    A good easy cruise today.
Had to let Padmei lead, everywhere I led was a dead end...

We spent half an hour trying to start a bike at the beginning of the ride. Fail...

The Jappa bikes worked well though...
