Cheers pete. I was drilling slow with pressure as I was taught as a young fella - maybe a bit too much pressure

I ended up riding over to Totaranui. I felt alright as soon as I left the house. I am thinking these flu symptoms are caused by the bloody pines next to us - around this time every year I feel like crap but forget about hay fever till I put 2+2 together

Anyway the road around from Tata beach has had a frick load of work. It's easy to see how it slipped during the big rains - the hills are made of bloody sand. They couldn't push the slip off the side of the road by the look of it so must have had to cart it all away. Prob the slowest road I have ridden for a while - no constant road surface.
Saw Nordie going onto Whakatu Dr as I was going off it.

Hey Jatz what kind of km/l do you get from your 800? I am getting 16km/l from mine using an easy throttle. Be interesting to compare

It's a nice ride out to Totaranui aye... Flick me a txt next time if you want some company. I only went up the Spooners then to Wairoa gorge and Lees valley.
I've got an avrg of 20.8km/l since I got the bike. It sits on about 25/27 with "normal" riding and gets up to 15/16 when pressing on

Went to Hori bay, intending to do Maungatap and Tinline, but lost all my lectrics, starter, lights everything. Crash started and rode home, pulled the fuses, looked at them, then put them back and everything is all good again. Worryingly.

I seriously need a big ride or something to get my enthusiasm back. Maybe a new bike?

Shit thats good. I made a mistake - I get 17km/l. All my rides seem to be reasonably spontaneous lately.

17km/l is about wot I get too. Airhead? yeah wouldn't mind one, but been looking at another bike and like Marks, keep coming back to a KLR, and with all the fruit on mine now any other KLR would be a step back. It was running the best its ever run today too, I think it may have an inkling that something is up.

Did you notice the diesel all over the Whangamoas yesterday? Had one slippy moment going up when the road was wet, but okay coming back. Clear run, no cars at all.

Good stuff. I used to have that prob with the DRZ until I got the 17l safari tank. Troube is after I got it the longest ride I did on it was prob only 100Kms

No it was dry as a bone. There were a few ambos going out there yesterday tho so may have been a crash or more likely an overfilled truck.

I struck no cars on the way over the Bay today - heaps of old Triumphs - must have had a run over there.
