Ride to work every day except when the storm came through for those couple of days. Yep the bike gets covered in crap and yep it gets cleaned every weekend its a labour of love!! I get some morbid satisfaction out of polishing her up! I'd rather be riding my bike than sat in a car any day. For those of you who dont like it getting wet.....you may need to wait a while yet before you unwrap it, push it out the garage and discover the battery has gone flat because of 'months' of no use!!!! Saying that tomorrow is looking good......better get out and give my bike a wash just in case eh!

I have to ride through 4 road works on my way to work so clean is not an option. The real bitch is on a nice (rare) day I still have to cover my work pants or risk filth.

Hey Hutt city or whoever is doing this motorway work all at the same time, enough already!

No point in having lotsa chrome if ya dont spend time making it shiny - it IS a labour of love and I for one dont mind doing it. Its a case of if I look after the bike... etc.

And besides, getting into all the nooks and crannys is a great way to a: get to know your bikes bits and b: find out if somethings outta place / missing / loose etc.

I guess one good thing about riding in the rain and liking having a clean bike is that because it is constantly getting dirty you are cleaning it very regularly, and cleaning the bike is a good way to constantly check over it and make sure everything is in working order, hopefully through doing that you may be able to nip any potential problems in the bud before they become bigger issues.
