    1. disc lock or lock and chain to something like a lampost is the better option, if you do go for the disc lock, atatch some string between it and your brake lever as a reminder, serious damage will occur if you forget and ride off.

    2. Dont use helmet lock on bike, you can bust em with an ear bud. See link http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=61535

    3. Carry Helmet on back seat with a cargo net, not a good idea carried any where on your person, though we've all prolly done it.

That's it for the advice. Farken enjoy yourself mate and good luck with them ladies, gotta love the ladies.

    Thumbs up

Good luck with the 250 matey. Dont' want to sound like Mr Boring but make sure your pillions have reasonable protective gear. A few of us on the site have "been there and done that" with regards to crashing with a pillion and you feel a right cunt if you come out of an accident in better condition than your pillion.

If you're short of gear you give the pillion the best jacket, gloves and helmet. It's amazing how much slower and alert you ride when you're the one with the $hite old helmet and no gloves.

    OH...and have fun

    1) I leave a picture of my ex-wifes mother on my bike and that seems to deter thieves really well.
    2) An oxford lid lasher is good idea. Google it.

Don't ride with a helmet on your elbow or in a bag on your back, just think about what that will do if you fall/get knocked off..

You might find you get a longer ride if you wobble up and down the road

too true..........my wife has a vl250intruder as well and the helmet lock is under the seat. with the forward footpegs you could probably lock spare helmet on there and ride normally. hope your bike is the black colour.
