In the big bad adult world there are a lot of people who will come and insult others and try to put them down physically, socially or professionally. Regardless of whether the person they target is at fault or not, it's just how it is.

As long as one has enough self-esteem to know who they are as a person who cares what people have to say? Fuck em all.

People are a product of their experiences whether for better or worse. Maybe some of us have just had or have a few too few skins and have now decided to say fuck em.

What worries me is others concerns about people voicing thier opinion. Unless someone is inciting others to hate particular individuals or groups of individuals I believe in freedom of speech and thought. If we let the p.c. bridge have thier way we will end up with no literature, comedy etc and look what has already happened with nursery rhymes. Do black people really find ba bah black sheep that offensive?

I got picked on in school for my size, I even got called anorexic while I was feeding my face with pringles. I was caught completely off guard and didn't know what to say to the idiot.

I had three people come up to me and my fiance in a department store and tell me how I disgusted them for being so skinny. They swore that I was anorexic and they had a go at me for not eating. I have had friends parents have a go at me for being anorexic until they saw how much I ate.

But the worst one ever was showing some visitors round the European Parliament and one of the bitches having a go at me for being so skinny and not eating etc etc. If I had known at the time that she was not a constituent of the Member of the Parliament and had not been as professional as I was I would have told the rude, fat cow exactly what I thought of her!!

THis is just so unbelievable!!! I find it really hard to fathom to be honest. Did you slap them? I don't condone this behaviour at all and Damn those nasty fat people - btw were they actually fat? OR just not skinny?

This is really a shock to me as my experience of actual *fat* people is that their size generally means they are the LAST one to cast stones at anyone else especially publicly about the way they look...unless provoked that is....sounds as though you've had the misfortune of coming across some VERY VERY angry fat people.

BTW - please don't paint all the generous ladies with the same brush. We are not all judging you for being slim nor would we bother attacking you unprovoked in public for it...infact some of us wouldn't even notice you except maybe to worry whether you would survive a food shortage ( in the spirit of not being too pc) Are we likely envious of your ability to eat like a horse and never gain weight? Probably most definitely but judging you for THAT...hell no - lucky you to have drawn those genes out the pond.

I don't condone violence so would never slap someone. And to be honest I was way to shocked and upset to do anything, even defend myself. Even the fiance was really shocked and asked if it was an unusual occerence as he couldn't believe that people could feel they had the right to do such a thing. And no they were fat.

I have never had a go at a fat person in my life and would NEVER EVER go and abuse them in public. I know how completely humiliated I felt and wouldn't want to do that to someone in front of other shoppers etc.

As for the genes, it is only now that I am slightly older and have filled out a bit that I appreciate my genes a little more, especially now that I can wear adult clothes. It suck having to buy your clothes in a kids store or not being able to find clothes for work without having to pay to have them altered.

Look at how the media helps to fuel the issue of slim women, you can only be a size 2 or whatever you guys have over there, if you don't eat or purge.

I got picked on for being a bully! I was bigger than most gurls .. (I wasnt fat then but I am now .. don't be hating on me people) I was athletic (gawd those were the days) I hung around with 'da maoris' so I was immediately targeted as a bully ..
