    Mr Motorcycles Trail Rides 08-09

    Press Release:

Mr Motorcycles Charity Trail Ride Series 2008/2009

Mr Motorcycles Ltd is proud to announce its annual trail ride series again for this season. The popular trail ride series is back after record numbers attended, with over 3000 riders attending the 6 events.
This is the 18th year of the series which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for small rural schools and communities in the Franklin and North Waikato regions.

Mr Motorcycle Directors Craig Brown and Scott Wilkins have been overwhelmed with the share numbers of riders that attend the series in the last few years. A huge amount of work and effort go into running these events, and as always our main goal is the safety of the riders and making sure all the tracks are well marked.

We could not run such a successful series without the continued support of the land owners and the community pulling together to make a great day out riding for all involved. It is also great to see the money we have raised put to good use on local schools and community halls in the Franklin and North Waikato area. It is a great way to give our company profile a lift while helping out smaller communities that often get over looked.

This year’s events will run with the similar format as last few years with 5 rides being open loop rides, with loops of approx 30-40km of rolling farmland and plantation forestry, these rides also have a separate kids loop for kids on mini bikes. The Waikaretu beach run with its unique sea views, sand dunes and remote beach sections return with a 80km single loop, with a fuel/lunch stop in the middle of the ride. One of the only changes this year is due to the numbers of riders attending, we will no longer be holding a mass riders briefing, instead a written riders briefing will be handed out at sign on with a larger version being made for the start of the trail.

    This year’s dates are

    Sunday 30th November 2008
Glen Murray, In Accusation with the Glen Murray hall Committee

    Sunday 14th December 2008
Paparimu, in association with the Paparimu School

    Sunday 1st February 2009
Wairamarama, in association with the Wairamarama Hall Committee

    Sunday 8th March 2009
Waikaretu beach Run, in association with the Wakaretu Hall Committee

    Sunday 22nd March 2009
Naike, in association with the Naike Community Social Club.

    Sunday April 5th 2009
Waerenga, in association with the Waerenga School

Costs remain the same as last year and are $25 per adult, $15 for Under 16’s, and a $60 family concession,

Any more information you can contact Scott or Craig at Mr Motorcycles, 5 Stadium Drive, ph 09 238 3176, email scott@mrmotorcycles.co.nz or visit www.mrmotorcycles.co.nz

EXCELLENT, good to see that the costs have not sky rocketed like so many other rides. It makes it affordable for a couple or family
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Agree with that! 10/10 for you Scott!!
I guess you do better if 500 riders turn up at that price instead of 200. Better for you & much better for us family guys. Great stuff!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Waerenga was pure ecstasy especially the hill section through the forest. Tons of traction and flying. Felt like I really slotted the groove that day. Back of course in the bush was top notch as well. Unforgetable 10/10 for that one Scott. Hoping for that side of the road again this year. I understand a lot of work went into that course (Ie. Bulldozer/chainsaw etc.) due to land availability issue at last minute.
