Almost got killed today..

So i was riding around town going up Vincent street towards Pitt street, and i was driving up on my little putput uz 125 scooter at about 55 when this white care pulls off the curb and pulls up RIGHT NEXT to me, forcing me over the center line into oncoming traffic..

I think he finally noticed cos i was tooting my horn like a lunatic so he slowed down as i sped up and i managed to get back onto the left side of the road just a moment before i would have been slammed headon into the car moving towards me..

I look back at him... and i see a asian dude sitting at the wheel.. now im not racist at all and dont normally agree with the whole asian driver bullsh*t but this guy was a f*cking retard... and you know what he does after almost freaken KILLING me?

he toots his horn... at me... the dude on the little scooter he almost killed.....

Far out. Some people deserve a damn good ass kicking. I know what you mean, I'm not racist but I was nearly collected by an asian woman in an SUV who pulled out right in front of me.

Glad you are ok though man.

Happy to hear you came out unscathed

I tell ya what ! You have to be extra vigilant while riding in the inner city. I am always on the lookout for people who don't see me on the road and even more so when on the city streets. People always pushing and shoving their way through. Have you thought about getting a slightly bigger bike, like a 250? for starters, it would probably make your more visible and, you can occupy your lane with alot more authority. being on a little 125 scooter just makes it to easy for cages to bully you around.

yeah im actually getting a suzuki vl250 next thursday... with my scooter as a tradein - would have been almost as pissed if i had died as i would have been if i totalled my scooter.. although a writeoff isnt a bad thing in some ways >.>

getting a 250 insured though is hard enough when you are 22 still on your learners let alone having a previous claim lol

but yeah i am normally really extra alert in town also, but he literally came out of nowhere >.<

I was on the Service Station forecourt waiting to use the Air when a woman in a merc started backing straight for me.

If I hadn't taken urgent evasive action she would have hit me.

Like yours these are every day occurrences for riders.

Sadly true. It seems to be a regular event for me lately. The commute to work is a single lane road that splits into two lanes as it gets to a roundabout or intersection then merges back to one lane about 150 metres past the roundabout (or intersection). There are 4 such places. I travel in the right lane and so often now I pull up behind the vehicle in front (closer then recommended usually) having negotiated the roundabout (or intersection) and then prepare to settle in for the next section when all of a sudden someone pulls up on my left and just sits there leaving me with a decision to make.
