One hell of a ride to get back into riding.

Details will be added once I have slept and can feel my fingers again.

Well It has been a bit now since I put the place holder up so will add part of the details. (currently 6:30 am)

Due to the current economy and my wish to get back in to riding again, I convinced my room mate (Orographic) to get in to riding.
Over the last few weeks we have been looking around for bike and stores that we liked and trusted. (read went window shopping half heartedly)

    Monday
I drifted back to the shop that I have been using over the years since about 2001, Bayride Yamaha. We meet up with Chris (great guy by the way) and start talking and explaining the situation. We soon got Orographic set up on a decent learners bike, the Yamaha Scorpio 225, nice bike since she didn't have her learners at the time. We then got on to talking about top boxes and similar extras, due to her being a pilot she needs the storage for all her gear.

I mention in passing to Chris that I too am looking for a bike and an upgrade in gear, he gets me to try the riding style on a BMW that they have had in the store for a while. I liked the riding style of the bike it fitted with how I liked to ride. (any comments on the 2003 BMW F650?). We put the down payment on Orographic's bike and headed back to Auckland with ideas and a weekend to look forward too (It was a Monday and i Had work to start at 17:00).

More to come when I wake up.
(Gimme a break it is 06:30 in the morning and I have just finished 12 hours of Truck driving, I'm tired.)

The F650 models are one of the best "all round" bikes made. Very versatile.

Jo Morgan (with husband Gareth) is riding one of these bikes all over the world
Having done the Silk Road, Africa, USA, they are now somewhere in Northern Europe - check their website for details.
