Im not certain how this will work out so here is my Idea pitch, this is more for those who have had a good few years of riding under our belts, and preferably of a more stable riding nature.
We seem to have a great in flux of Newbie riders witch I see as a good thing, and some of these riders have got through their basic handeling course, and have gone out and brought their first bike, they are at the stage of taking their first few steps out into the world of motorcycling, and some may require the help and support of those who have the exsperience and milage under our tyres to give them some practical imput on a one on one basis, it may be just help get them started, and do some of the basic road skills Ie Hill starts and stops, riding in the wet etc.
Now I view this as voluntary, though it would be between you and your newbie as to what sort of deal you strike, some newbies will require more help than others, some may require the help of a professional cycle tutor or course.
This is not about teaching the newbie how to do burn outs, wheel stands, or stoppies, they can learn that stuff latter on, this is about getting them started on their own, so they can travel from A to B happily with in their own ability.
so what I am thinking is that the old heads in Motorcycling, who can afford the time, dont mind being a mentor, have a bucket full of patience, and an ability to pass on their own exsperience to a newbie, put their name and area into this thread.
My self I probably could only afford to put in a few hours a week, and would charge a coffee for my input.
So please state if this is a good or bad idea, and if good if you would be keen to give some time to our Newbies.
No contact details need be given as they can PM you through the site.
