There's nowt wrong with a 500cc 2 stroke. I could live with that.

Well, without digressing on this thread too much, not everyone on this forum necessarily takes the same stand as the vocal anti-cheesecutter brigade, y'know.

I got way more than my money's worth out of ACC last year when I highsided and broke my hand. If they want to charge me twice the premium they do now via my bike rego, that'd seem fair to me. I am, after all, a high-risk customer.

Has that actually been proposed, or did you just make that up right now?

Wasn't going to but I'll cover some issues here:
"Not judging as I am not perfect, I saw 2 bad calls in that video. One was overtaking those 3 bikers coming up that corner. There is a short straight after you could of got them on. Second overtaking that car on the 35kmph corner coming down to Kawakawa bay. Its kinda blind. But i do love that corner!"

Overtaking the 3 bikers was not an issue. I wasn't riding at 100% and could have braked while leaving room for any of them. I saw they were keeping well left and it's extremely rare for riders on a left hander to swing wide at the speed they were going so there was always going to be room for two in the left lane "if" a car came out of nowhere. I crossed the centre line momentarily becuase I could but would not have needed to if the worst happened.

Coming into Kawa on the tight left hander. I always look down the hill over the gully to the other side and see if anything is coming. You can overtake really safely here down and up hill once you've checked the road BUT the car on the left I was overtaking actually sped up and tried to muscle me off the road. You can't see that on the vid as it looks ahead. Again, I knew nothing was coming and were safe in the other lane and were checking ahead the whole time just in case.
You do not need to explain yourself to me... As I said I am not perfect and have done stupid things myself. Those are just my observations. You are correct though, i wasn't there and didn't see where you were looking, speed you were doing, where the car was etc so I may be intirely wrong.

I have met you one time when I came to find my mate on his orange zx6r and we was following you. You seem like a nice guy.

Of course I made it up.

It's not outside the realms of possibility though.

(Need I remind you all that there's more smokers in NZ than there are motorcyclists?)

The only similar thing I'm aware of anywhere is the French 100hp restriction.

But that's the French, fer chrissakes.

And a 100hp restriction is a lot less draconian than a 500cc one.

    Oh my!

You'd have to move to the Helensville electorate at some point within the next three years if you wanted to use it, though.

John Key, I'm-a comin' tae git ye.

I remember meeting you too. At the bottom of the Hunua gorge. Your mate was meant to have gone down Popes road with you guys.
Yeah, was good meeting you and a nice day for a ride back then too

    Cheers

Well no one would make videos if they didn't want to show off a little bit! I make them to show off the scenery for other international motorcyclists i'm connected with, I never thought of using them as a proxy for improving my motorcycling skills.. so I think I'm gonna give it a go. Of course there's a storm coming tomorrow!

I'll even post it in the General Discussion forum for you to point out my dangerous riding, look forward to it!

    I'm sure you've noticed - neither do I.

Lucky you - I haven't made a claim to ACC in over 20 years.

Vid shows potentially dangerous situations approached in a less than cautious manner. I can see how the video could be interpreted as erratic, dangerous driving.

Do you think they'd vote for me?

All cars and bikes sold into the Japanese domestic market are supposed to be factory restricted to a maximum speed of 180km/h.

What action would you have taken if at 3:45 another biker had come over the crest of the hill doing the same speed?

What signals did the car at 3:20 give to indicate it was pulling left?

Im interested to hear how you would have reacted or what you saw that i missed, im sure ill come up with more as i watch further

Is the cam helmet mounted? fair bit of brake dive as you hit the bridge just after it says 220
