Yep - a big thanks from me too. First time for me in the NZ hills, mud & hard-packed gravel / metal roads with unexpected ball-bearing patches mixed in for fun (and they seem to somehow congregate just on the outside of the optimal riding line through the turns, so if you're a tad sub-optimal like me, off course you gonna get into the stuff ...) - only managed to put the DR down once on the pea gravel on the way down to meet all in Ohura and later on twice in the mud - all in all a fun time!

Methinks I can get quite hooked on this

BTW - anybody perhaps done & saved a GPS Route log of this & prepared to share it? Would be keen to lay my paws on one.

+1 on this. I'm keen for a copy of a GPS track log to put on my web site.

A BIGthanks to Mike , Phil & Dawn and the rest of the naki crew for organizing and running the ride.
635 kms clocked for me for sat & sun and i enjoyed every k.
These rides just keep getting better and better.
The high lights of the ride for me were kiwi rd - the moki track and whangamomana rd.
I woud love to have done fishers track on the friday but i guess that 1 will have to wait for another time.

Will post a few pics later

That was a fantastic weekend's riding. Thanks again to Mike, Phil, and the rest who organised it all - esp Sunday's weather. The start from Taupo across the 42 made it even better. I daren't wash the crud off my bike because I know there's ugly grazes under there!

I've got GPS tracks for the 3 days - just need to check something before posting them.

Thanks everyone for the thank you messages, I am glad that it looks as though everyone got home in one piece!

Also nice to be able to organise a ride for those Kiwi Bikers who have organised the ones in the past that I have been on, Clint640, Rosie and Triboy.

Also big thanks to Phil for being such a good leader, I was happy at the back swallowing everyone's dust.... ha ha

Now somewhere over the weekend I heard mention of a Wellington ride being organised.. Aslan? Marks (you were volunteered in your absense)?

Rosie - did you get to see the mountain on Sunday?

Some pics, dont want to repeat what is already here so just a few.

2 and 4 getting ready to leave

    A few more,

    1) Aslan making up some big story about how he swerved 4 times, jumped a ditch, wrestled a bull, "and look that is the only mark that I got on the bike"
2 and 3) Meal time Te Wera Saturday night

    Did the riders arse survive?
    did it chew gas??

makes me wonder if I should dig out the big tank I have for mine and chuck the lights and plate back on....
