Mobil stations - Eftpos at pump no more

    Edit - Mobile not Gull

Like a lot of folk - I hate having to prepay - only to find I needed $17 and not the $20 I had paid and having to stand in line a second time simply to get my change - where they try and convince me to buy the special of the day.

I don't mind the local Mobile as its right on my way home, is clean with a ton of space, and most importantly has Eftpos at the pump.

Pull up, swipe, fill, fuck off back onto the road - excellent!

So I try and do this last night - and none of the pumps have eftpos at the pump working. OK - no biggie must be a fault - so I head inside.

There they have a big sign saying that you can pay at the pumps with your Mobile card (so the machines are working) - but now you have to eftpos inside (and I joke not) - and save money by spending $4 in the shop at the same time.

So fans of eftpos at pump - may pay to start ignoring Mobile

I questioned the shop assistant (like they assist with fuck all) and he said its the new chain policy to get you inside.

I never believed the argument that locking the pumps is a 'marketing scheme' to get you inside as opposed to preventing drive offs - but I guess this kind of proves that it is.

I feel sorry for the owners that do have drive offs - but this is taking the piss. So - now I use the local BP. Guessing that we spend $100 on fuel a week - that's a loss of about 5k to that station a year.

Seems to be the same for Mobil now. I used to always go to them for eftpos at the pump. A few days ago I found out that all of their eftpos terminals are for mobil card owners only.

    They won't care too much.

I refuse to use the local BP as they always insist on prepay, even weaving my BP Fuelcard is not enough for them to unlock the pump. Fuck 'em.

I go to the local Challenge every time. They even come out and pump my gas for me.

Yup, good shit. Leaded 120 Octane over $3 a litre now, the boat loves it too.

I noticed that a week or so ago at my local Mobil - thought maybe it was just ours.

Don't matter anywho, I have a tame attendant who turns the pump on as soon as she sees the mighty RF arrive.

yeah finding a good servo to get gas is a real chalange.

I dont go to bp becasue they are dicks with rising the price first. + locked pumps
I dont go to mobil because of locked pumps.

I find shell to be the best so far, never had a locked pump yet - but no efpos at pumps.

Don't have a local caltex, but from memory they are OK.

Gull, I hate waiting in line for people who do there shopping at the 24hrs thing.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

I did wonder whether the purchase of 91 octane petrol ten litres at a time for a diesel ute might raise a few eyebrows.

Is a Mobile gas station one that comes to us, or is it just a plain old Mobil station?

Mobil pulled eftpos at pump ages ago down here. Sucks big time. As with all the other stations they want you to go inside to buy a coffee or some of there ova priced pastry. It would make it so simple eftpos at pump ....no drive offs and so much quicker..for the customer! Lately I've been doing the pac 'n' sav thing as they have pumps on site. do the shopping fill the car and jerry can(eftpos at pump) and 15c a litre off. Still hurts the wallet through

Dude, we haven't had eftpos at the pump in Wellington for years, the machines kept crapping out.
What piss's me off about Mobile, is that they changed the 98 Octane to contain 10% ethanol and don't tell you that they have done it, until you go in to pay. Then they pull out a sheet of paper to say sorry your bike isn’t cleared to use this new fuel and may stuff it! And the shits no cheaper!!!!
To all that I may offend.......Build a bridge!

Life's to short not to say what you mean
