    Great piece of road if you know it & its dry......got some tricky corners that are tight & or off camber, or decreasing radius.
    The bit betwwn the Engineers camp & lewis pass- Maruia springs has the dodgeyist bits with a shit surface, slumps,grit & fuckers trying to pass when they shouldnt. Sucks you right in in places if your not onto it....

    The only time I felt the road was dangerous was in thick fog - add the one lane bridges to that and it IS dangerous.
    Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........

    It has a fairly high proportion of tourists. I've been over it several times and all in all it's no more dangerouse than any other road that goes through a pass. Ride with care and diligence along with the awareness that a tourist may do the unexpected and you should not have any problem. Treat it like a race track and you will..........one day.
