1) It's not a new rule. It's an old rule they're only now putting an emphasis on enforcing
2) You're not supposed to indicate right if you're going straight through the roundabout. You dont signal entering it, then you signal left before your exit. It makes complete sense and you're talking about how OTHERS have trouble with it?
Small caveat on the straight through roundabout thing: On some wonky roundabouts where you're technically going straight through, but the design of the road is unclear, it makes sense to indicate as such to make it clear to others where you're going.
Ah no...I mean when the 3rd exit is on your right as you approach. Like making a right turn in the absence of a roundabout.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Then yes, completely correct.
The logic:
To the people on your left and at the straight ahead exit, you're showing them that you're going to cross their path, then once you've passed the straight ahead one, you'll signal left to let the people at the 3rd exit (the one you're planning on taking) know that you're leaving the roundabout and it's (most likely) going to be safe to consider pulling out.
Didn't say others had trouble with it man read it again ! i said it sucks !
So your saying i dont indicate right as i enter (which i dont anyhow lol see no problems with it) and only indicate left as i get to the road on my left ? haha have to be a big roundabout is what im saying, lol by the time i'm paralell with the road on my left so i could indicate safely, so the bloke coming out of said road on my left, dont shoot out and ram me thinking im turning left, i'm on my exit run out the next exit obviously not turning right !
If it were a big r/bout and there was a car/bike/truck slowing for it coming straight at me (as i said curtious) I'd be more inclined to point where im going with a flash of the arm !
I have done it on occasion and as an aggressive rider/driver its bloody near pointless !~

The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Well with some of the driving I've seen by taxi drivers around Auckland I was not surprised at all with that story. Driving including U-turns all over the place in front of people and in no u-turn zones, erratic "parking" i.e. just slamming on the brakes when someone signals to them, even if I biker is behind. Not to mention having been in a taxi at 80kph along 50kph streets until I told him "Fuck man I ain't in a rush so take it easy!".
He probably hasn't had a ticket in the last 30 years cause he's used his big whinge excuse and been let off 30 times!
Was talking bout who has right of way ! You cant tell me more than 10 % of NZ drivers know the right of way rules ! You see it everyday at roundabouts , they sit there at 3 entry points looking at one another stupidly, was all i was saying !
But yes ya did pull me up on the indicate right as ya enter and good on ya that would be a bling to you i could be wrong !

Good post Rastus, take a bow.
