Lurve the wonderful surface on the new road too.

Have to commute through that shit! F@rkin council needs a rocket.

I stand corrected. Who do we string up?

That would be our beloved bureaucrats formerly known as Transit - now the NZ Transport Agency as of 1 August.

Moaning on here won't get it sorted. And the longer you guys in the area leave it, the less likely you will have any effect. Familiarity, and all that. Remember, you want all road users on your side, and this particular WRB is still new and possibly scary to cagers.
and for those that don't know the location, go here http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8...8&hl=en&tab=wl then enter Moonshine Rd, Trentham, 5018, New Zealand it is here, between the HW2 shields.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

New barrier on River Road Upper Hutt

just wondered if anybody knows the reasoning behind the new barrier being erected on the River Road in Upper Hutt?

It seems to be going to run from the end of the already constructed Moonshine Bridge one through to Whakatiki Street intersection.

They wanted to see how long it would take for someone to post a thread on KB about it?

I guess people were still doing U-turns there so decided to extend it down to the other intersection. I'm sure it's nothing too sinister.

Trudes is right. Too many people have been making U-turns just past the cheesecutters so they can save 100 metres and get to Moonshine Road. There's been a couple of accidents.

Much as I hate the cheesecutters, I've learned to avoid them.

Can't say the same about SUVs on the wrong side of the road too.

I miss Dave too. I wonder if he's still working at Wakefield Hospital in Newtown?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Fuck the U-turns...cops do them, no problem. Right?
How many head-ons, or other crashes, have there been along there?

Stonechucker almost got killed and still has no use of his right arm, plus his internal injuries mean he's still not fully back to work several years down the track.

Typical ACC bludger with limbs that don't work, detached heart and ruptured spleen, lacerated liver, severe head injuries.

    Yesh, Bludger alright.

Hit by a van that turned across too soon and clipped him sending him into Armco. Armco's no problem though because it works for cars, eh?

Further south a dude on a Kawasaki VN was killed by two idiots heading north (he was heading south) enagaed in a do or die road rage battle because one of them cut the other off, so the cutee forced the cutter into oncoming traffic, hitting the VN rider hard enough to kill him instantly and fling his bike and body down the river bank.

I've been forced onto the shoulder along there by traffic pulling out from Whakataki road into oncoming traffic on the other side of the road.
