Ahhhhhhhh.......Corbin.......I can hear your arse thanking you from here!
Ohlins as well!!!!!! You are really getting serious about this now.
Has it done the job for you and did you do anything with the front end?

Your photo standard is still first rate - long may it continue.

The range is the surprising one.
Provided that I can get out of first gear, the range is around 700km regardless of the terrain.
How well does the 13t go?
More wear on the swingarm chain slider?

I may go to a 13t and keep the 525 chain instead of 14/16-46 in 520.

Haven't noticed any difference on the slider but then I haven't looked.

Jamie summed it up when he said that a 13T on the front gave a very nice set of ratios and what it needed then was a 6th gear for highway cruising.
IMHO it works really well in the rough stuff but effectively limits you to about 120 kph tops on the road. It will go faster but the revs are getting up there and the fuel economy disappears.

    DR's are tough.
Not only can they cope with "generously" proportioned riders but the subframe/carrier can handle a fair workout too...

ok bikes home, new alloy mount made.

it now rests against the main frame, and have a good 10mm clearance from the engine.

the new mounting point is behind the oil cooler, on to the frame.

is a bit tricky to see but is in one of the pics.

im also going to try and place rubber washers between tank and mount.
the foam is to help protect the tank where the brace is close to bottom of tank.
i still have to trim a bit of foam off for the rubber washers.

x fingers is stays togeather this weekend.

The Black Beast has arrived and the little KLX has gone!

I guess it will get a workout in the Wairarapa tomorrow - hmm Trailwings on both wheels, wonder how they're gonna go; could be interesting?

    And no sump guard!

Still the Cycleworks pipe sounds nice!

Nice looking ride man! Well done, nice extras too.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

It's got some minor scrathes on the RHS exhaust shroud(much less than the KLX had!) and crankcase but apart from that its pretty mint!
Has swivel pegs on it which I'm not sure I'm gonna like - they feel weird, will see how they feel tomorrow.
Just gotta sort a sump guard sharpish and also tyres before any nasty offroad stuff, plus I'm used to a Ventura Pack Rack now so maybe need to address the rack situation on it.

Lookin forward to tomorrow (even on the Trailwings!).
    Cheers, Dave

    You'll hate them.
I'll swap them for some stockers and a footpeg lowering kit.

(I've been after some of the buggers for a loooong time now).
