    Buell maintenance

G'day. I can now change my profile and add that I am a proud owner of a Buell XB9S! This is my first Buell and I'm wondering what maintenance items I should attend to before I get into any sort of riding, ie are there any Buell-specific things to check / do? The bike has 20000Km's on the clock and appears to have been well looked after and maintained.
    Cheers----

Check your oil and tyres and put fuel in it. Job done really.

New to you bike - check your bearings - steering head - swingarm - wheels.

If it's idling rough or stumbley at all - it needs a TPS - Throttle Position Sensor- reset. 10 minute shop job.

Otherwise they have 8,000km service intervals. Ongoing ownership costs were audited as cheapest of any brand.

Normal service from a dealer is typically $250 - A 'big' service $300ish.

Belt is auto adjusting. Check it for wear.

    Grin a lot.

    Talking Xb9s

Hi stay away from dirt roads any stones in the belt will give you problems plus get the gearbox oil checked it can make changes a lot smoother. Check your tyre supplier carefully any wheel removal needs an experienced technician (posh word for mechanic) its not like dealing with a chain driven bike. Great bike enjoy
